Crossing the Acheron

Charon carries the dead across the river Acheron into the Realm of the King of the Dead... He is incorruptible and irresistible. His cold hands clench the oar with an horrific sense of duty as his dead eyes stare across the river. He is not wasting one single moment of compassion, or even of mere observation, regarding the deceased that are gathering at the shore. His route can not be affected by the mortal, nor the divine... No prayer or begging, no stream of tears will ever soften his grimace.
